Dear Fellow Doctor,

We wish to inform you about Save Pune Traffic Movement and its related project called BeaconNet+    , which is a virtual network of doctors.

Save Pune Traffic Movement is a movement of conscientious and responsible citizens. Its mission is to transform the Pune traffic and the idea is to motivate citizens to do our duty towards traffic i.e. following traffic rules, unconditionally. Hence, the citizens joining this Movement are required to take up the commitment of following traffic rules 100% and express this commitment openly through a sticker on the vehicle. The idea is that once we have a large number of citizens, we will break the blame passing vicious circle and will be able to put pressure on authorities to support the movement by doing their job effectively.

BeaconNet is a project of SPTM to network eminent people of Pune to support the Movement by spreading in their respective circle of citizens. Extension of this, BeaconNet+  is a virtual network of doctors. We can support this citizens’ initiative by spreading the Movement to our patients and other fellow doctors. This can be done easily by keeping Movement literature in the clinic and, of course, direct word of mouth.

IMA has decided to support this project by encouraging all members to join it. We believe we can immensely contribute to this Citizen Movement by participating in this project, which should not tax our time also, since there are no meetings intended. Dr. K.H. Sancheti has accepted to be President of BeaconNet+. Hence, I invite you to join and support this. SPTM activists will give you additional information regarding the Movement and this project.
