Appeal by the Movement to Doctors

Dear Dr.

The Movement is getting more and more support from individual citizens as well as organizations. E.g. the organizational program Chakra has been taken up by respected organizations such as Wipro, KPIT.  We have a project called RiverNet which is for getting the support of Social organizations for the Movement. Some Rotary club, Nagrik Chetna Manch etc have supported the Movement under this. BeaconNet is a project of SPTM to network eminent people of Pune to support the Movement by spreading in their respective circle of citizens. Several eminent Puneites such as Dr.Gowarikar, Mrs.Lila Poonawalla, Dr.S.B.Mujumdar etc have given their blessings for the Movement.

We already have several doctors who have joined the Movement. We have now decided to extend the concept of BeaconNet to create a virtual network of doctors, BeaconNet+

Each doctor, like you, is highly respected by his/her circle of patients and the fellow doctors. The idea is not to tax your time, which is already a most scarce resource for you. Idea is that you can support this citizens’ initiative by sharing the Movement with your patients and other fellow doctors, e.g. by keeping Movement literature in your clinic and by mentioning it positively to them at appropriate time, as and when you find suitable.

IMA has supported this project and Dr.K.H.Sancheti has kindly accepted to be its President. We are planning to launch it formally in the meeting of IMA in February 2004. All the Doctors who will join it before the launch will be considered the founder members of this network.

Hence, I request you to join the Movement (if you haven’t done so already) and to join the BeaconNet
