The Goal of Operation SunRise is to reach a milestone of 10K (10,000) citizens participating in the Movement within 2005.  What is the importance of 10K ? How does it relate it to our overall Goal ? Please read on ...

There are about 10 to 12 Lakh vehicles in Pune. We are confident that the Movement will be completely self-sustained and grow on its own, when we reach almost 10% of this population i.e. approximately 1 Lakh. So, this is where we have to reach. But to reach there, we have decided the first milestone as 10% of 1 Lakh i.e. 10,000 or 10K. We feel confident that when we reach this milestone of 10,000 good, conscientious citizens in the Movement, who talk about it with pride, we will be out of the tunnel and start growing rapidly, as shown in the diagram below.  So, when we reach this milestone 10K, we would have found the light at the end of the tunnel i.e. created a SunRise for us and Pune, hence the name: Operation SunRise. 

First, if you are a Puneite, drive a vehicle and  haven't yet joined the Movement, we pose this question to you: 

Do you consider yourself to be a better, responsible, conscientious citizen and  part of this team of first 10,000 citizens who will drive the transformation of the city? Do you have will and capability to take the commitment to follow traffic rules 100% and express it openly through the sticker on the vehicle? If yes, then join in, you become sptm-citizen. 

But we encourage you to participate more and that is the most important part of SunRise. You can become a SPTM-Captain and motivate 10 more Puneites to join the Movement. Do try to motivate as many of these 10 people as possible to join the team as SPTM-Captains.  

To reach the 10K milestone, we want 1000 SPTM-Captains, before 30th June, 2005. Are you one of them? If yes, send us a mail at contact@savepunetraffic.com. We will mail you a kit, which will help you to motivate the citizens to join.

** Are you out of Pune, in India or abroad, or do not drive a vehicle for some reason & still want to participate in Operation SunRise, because you care for Pune? 

You can do so by joining in as SPTM-Catalyst. As a Catalyst, you are also expected to motivate Puneites you know closely to join in the Movement and operation SunRise. You can also pass on this information to others, who also may be similarly not in Pune at present but care for the city, to become Catalysts. However, the main efforts should be to make a difference here, i.e. to motivate Citizens who are here, to become SPTM-Citizens & preferably SPTM-Captains.
