You are already doing excellent work of road widening aggressively. you are also taking several other important steps such as removing unauthorized structures obstructing the traffic, putting up the road direction boards, improving street lights etc. This is great and Save Pune Traffic Movement congratulates you and all the departments and people working towards this cause! We request you to support and join the movement. From time to time the citizens will send you the feedbacks and suggestions via this website and we request you to give feedback for these and take suitable actions. We request you further to encourage all the people of PMC and its various administrative offices to join the movement. We also request you the Pune Mayor as a first citizen of Pune and all the corporators to support the movement, not as political party workers, but as the citizens and Nagarsevaks! |

PMT (Pune Muncipal Transport)! Save Pune Traffic Movement requests you to support the movement. For supporting the movement, the First and foremost request to you is to educate and instruct the PMT bus drivers, about the rules which must be followed under all circumstances. At present, PMT bus creates a phenomenal blockade for the traffic when the bus driver stops the bus, in an improper manner, i.e. away from the bus stop, many times even in the middle of the road. People behind have to just wait frustrated, whereas some try to cross from left side, from where the passengers are trying to either get in to the bus or get down, which poses a serious hazard. We request you to create awareness in the drivers and also give them warning about strict action. Also communicate to traffic police, about taking action against drivers not following the rules. |

Your support to the Pune traffic movement is very crucial. After all the movement is also going to help you by reducing the number of people breaking the rules in a big way. We request you to make citizens aware of various traffic rules by various means, and we also request you to punish the rule breakers swiftly. We request you to take steps to discourage police from taking bribes from the rule breakers who are caught. We also request you to instruct police not to ask citizens to bypass the rules, e.g. asking them to go ahead even though signal is still RED, or allowing them to go from wrong side of the road divider, since this may give a temporary benefit at that moment, however it gives a wrong message to the citizens to take the rules as per their convenience. |

Organizations and institutes in Pune! Please support the movement and make it as a part of the HR activities, to develop the awareness among the employees about the traffic. People are your biggest assets, and everybody, without any exception, is affected by the traffic conditions. Hence, please encourage your people to join the movement. Several organizations have buses plying in the city. Please take measures to make the drivers aware of their responsibility and the rules. At present many of these private buses are seen to stop arbitrarily for the employees to get down, even very near the squares, blocking the traffic. The buses have organization name on it in bold! Even if it blocks a few citizens for 30 seconds, imagine how many minds must be expressing frustrations, while the eyes have your organization name in the view!! Also,
you can support the movement by contributing message stickers for the

Please
support the movement, simply by educating the children / the students,
by making them aware about the rules, and what must be done and what
must not be done. Special periods and demonstrations can be done. Today,
at least some of the accidents, where the students become victims may be
due to their own mistakes. Many times the students tend to go together
in pairs while cycling. If a student tries to cross a road, while
talking to the companion, just because he has just crossed, anything can
happen even due to difference of only seconds. |

Appeal to Pune Riksha drivers & Riksha unions We request you to support the movement, and create awareness in your fellow Riksha drivers about the rules and importance of following the rules. Many Riksha drivers are seen to drive the Riksha in a zigzag way, or drive slowly in the middle of the road when no passenger is inside and suddenly go to side, when somebody waives for the riksha. Many drivers also park the riksha improperly while waiting at the corners of small lanes and create blockade. At signals, many auoriksha drivers stop on the wrong side, i.e. if they want to urn right, they try to go towards front, as much as possible, by crossing the vehicles waiting there from left. This blocks the people who want to go straight or to left, eventhough they may have a green signal. (To be fair, this is not applicable only to autorikshas, but to all other vehicles as well, particularly two wheelers. However, due to their size, autoriksha becomes a large obstacle). Hence, please create awareness in the autoriksha drivers to follow rules and avoid abovementioned mistakes. |
